1882

A town hotel takes shape

In the heart of Laholm, the story of Laholms Stadshotell began in the late 1800s. With its central location by the square, the hotel quickly became a natural meeting place for travellers, business people and locals alike.

People gathered here for overnight stays, dinners, important meetings and social occasions – at a time when the town hotel played a central role in everyday life.

1900–1930

A place for travellers and gatherings

As railways, trade and travel grew across Sweden, town hotels became a natural part of society. Laholms Stadshotell became a place where people paused – for work, rest and community.

The atmosphere was marked by elegance, personal service and sociability. The parlours filled with conversation, and the restaurant became a natural gathering place for guests and locals alike.

1950–1980

Tradition meets change

In the post-war years, the way people travelled changed. Families began taking more holidays, business travel increased, and the hotel remained an important part of Laholm's town centre.

At the same time, the hotel evolved with its era – without losing the personal feel and charm that has made town hotels unique across generations.

1990–2020

A meeting place – then as now

More than a century later, Laholms Stadshotell continues to be a place where people come together.

Whether for a weekend, a fine dinner at The Golden Pearl, a conference, a celebration or a peaceful stay near the sea, nature and golf. The history is still here – in the walls, the details, and the feeling of checking in somewhere with soul.

From the town hotel of the past to today's boutique experience – the story keeps being written.
